Alreet...
One song that has always stuck out to me as being an amazing tune is Jerusalem which is sung at the BBC Proms by big crowds, The Rugby Union and was a football song back in 2002/4 I think... Always thought with a touch of lyrical tweaking it would be a rousing tune to sing should the lyrics fit... Now before I get scribbling how about some of you boys/girls have a listen and see what you think...

This is a classic anthem, and when you hear it, describes Huddersfield perfectly.
William Blake could have been sat on a hillside overlooking the town when he put these words together.
I'd sing as it as it was intended, anything else is an injustice.
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green And was the holy lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen
And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills And was Jerusalem builded here Among those dark Satanic mills
Bring me my bow of burning gold Bring me my arrows of desire Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold Bring me my chariot of fire
I will not cease from mental fight Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand 'Til we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land 'Til we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land

Yup it's an awesome song/hymn/chant.
I'd be tempted to swap Jerusalem for Huddersfield maybe just to personalise it - but otherwise it's a bit of a sacred song!!
Let me see....
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green And was the holy lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen
And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills That saw Huddersfield builded here Among those dark Satanic mills
Bring me my bow of burning gold Bring me my arrows of desire Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold Bring me my chariot of fire
I will not cease from mental fight Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand Cos we have built Huddersfield Town The greatest team in Inger-land
Bastardised and raw but you can kinda see where I'm coming from...
I reckon it'd get Jimmymac weeping ;D
