Alrite lads! was having a think about how we can sort out gettin some flags sorted and banners and stuff. Wondered if anyone had any ideas??
There are loads of places that can make big flags but its quite expensive. Anyone fancy putting money in to an online account that could be set up to pay for things like this? if not we could just all buy our own stuff.
Things like balloons, confetti, streamers are easy to get hold of so any games we go to tings that that could be brought as a cheapish way to create some colour.
Anybody got any other ideas?

Good idea mate. Especially with regards to setting up some sort of account. Only thing I can think of is maybe a PayPal account. People can just pay money into that and it could go towards any big flags that would be too complicated to make ourselfs. With regards to making them ourselfs, there are loads of shops that sell cheap material, and you can just sew or paint on your design. You could even just use a flat bed sheet if your just wanting a design putting on it. I know people who have done this in other groups and it looks good providing you use proper material paint/felt pens. I'll try find some pic of flags/banners to give folk ideas on what to create I've got loads of ideas, but I wouldn't expect others to make them for me. Once we get a logo sorted i'll look into getting a group banner made that we can take to games and hang up so folk know where we are sitting/standing. This is very important and something i'm looking to get made up ASAP.

yea i thought a paypal account would be a good idea. if a lot of people are interested it wud be easy to raise a fair bit of cash.
Dont know bout you but my sewing skills aren't great but i think making flags wouldn't be too difficult.
Can't wait for all this to start happening and get a better atmosphere going at games.

My sewing skills aint the greatest either mate, so dont worry about it. There are other ways of putting designs on a sheet of material. Even if you think of a design, just cut out the letter/shapes of what you want and take it to your local sewing shop. I'm sure they'd put it all together for you for a small fee.

Just a quick google search has led me to this website: stretfordendflags.com/forum/index.php?topic=6928.0Just click the link & follow the thread through, I know its Man Utd but there are some class banners on display. Just gives you an idea really. Think outside the box and you can get some really good witty slogans to put on them.

the thing is with flags that if you pay a decent amount they do look the business, i've had 3 St George flags with Huddersfield Town on it, the first was 5" X 3" and i wrote the lettering on myself using maker pen!! it was an absolute ball ache and took ages! the second was 8" X 5" and i had the lettering printed by a company in queensgate market- it looked ok cost of £15. i then looked into getting a big flag produced,( you can see a pic of it on the facebook group) there are various sites available and if you email with what you want they can do you designs and will stitch on the lettering which looks alot better but as has been said these will set you back a few years but if you look after them then there is no reason for them not lasting a good 20 yrs + the site i used was www.supporter-flags.co.uk, there is also a company called www.barmyflags.co.uk/ based in oldham area and you can design flags on there site and it shows the price, many companies will also do custom flags so if you dont want the standard HTFC stuff you can have logos and designs put on them

As stated in the Group Banner thread, there is a shop in Dewsbury that sells material cheap as f*ck.
Some of it is only £1 per yard which is quite a fair size. I got the material for the group banner for £16. I'll put a picture up of it when I get one so you can see how much you get for your money.
I'll try get a map up to show where the shop is, or if anyone else knows anywhere cheap, get it posted up as some shops will be more local for others to get to.
